Article Marketing has become popularized by a term called Bum Marketing. Bum Marketing was the idea of submitting articles to directories for long-tail keywords with the goal of reaching first page for that keyword with your article and driving affiliate sales. Although this could be a profitable business model for the novice internet marketing, there are much more reasons why you should use article marketing in your marketing campaigns.
1) Backlinks – One of the top reasons why I use article marketing in my online marketing campaigns is because it helps build backlinks for my website. Backlinks are links outside of your website that point back to your website. How might this help you may ask? The more backlinks you have pointing back to your website, the higher “value” Google sees in your website and that translates into higher search engine placements for the keywords that you are targeting. To get a lot of backlinks – you need to submit to a lot of directories, that’s why people use article submission software or services like Article Marketer that submit your articles for you. You won’t get a lot of traffic from your articles when you submit to hundreds of directories, but you will get thousands of backlinks which are just as valuable.
2) Search Engine Domination – As I mentioned in the 1st paragraph of this article – you can “bum market” your articles for low-competition keywords. If you really want to get fancy, you can even target mid-high range competition keywords but submit backlinks to your articles to give it a little “edge” to rank higher in the search engines. 3) Authority - One of the most beneficial aspects of article marketing is that it can easily label you as an expert. If your articles are high-quality and you provide real world value to your visitors, then you will be seen in the eyes of your visitors as an expert in your niche. How can this help you? Well, it makes selling to your visitors a lot easier because they already know who you are and they trust your judgement. You can’t convert any sales without trust, and articles are a good way to create trust for yourself by making yourself to appear as an authority figure.
Overall, article marketing is great for any aspect of your business. It may be grueling work to write articles and submit them to directories, but there are shortcuts to everything. You can always outsource quality writers to write your articles for you, and you can use submission software and services in order to spread your articles to the web faster.
